Over The Weekend . . . November 9, 2010
Posted by Emily in : Friends , 7commentsI seriously slept three hours this weekend.
I blame it on these chitty chatty women! We spent the night at a cabin in Midway, and we literally talked and laughed the night away!
Somehow I was talked into yodeling . . . (not my finest moment let me tell you) and Emily (on the top, right hand corner in the black) was talked into demonstrating a back handspring.
Both talents were performed after midnight. Need I say more? :)

We got to the cabin after dark, so I had no idea what we’d wake up to . . .

With only three hours of sleep, I was the last one to bed and the first one up (which doesn’t make any sense since I’m known to fall asleep anytime, anywhere, and usually at a very early hour). I was able to photograph Midway just before the sun popped its head over the mountain.

Every woman needs a girls night out, or a girls-getaway every and now and again.
I think I’m ready for another one!
Let it be Known . . . November 8, 2010
Posted by Emily in : Family, Holidays , 1 comment so farWe did actually take our kids out trick or treating. Did I take even one picture?
NO.
It was the equivalent of a blizzard but instead of snow it was rain! We took our kids trick or treating to five houses and that was the extent of their experience! Hannah was a fairy (see photo shoot here) and Dallin was supposed to be Batman, but do you think he wore his costume? NO WAY! I knew he would NEVER wear a costume, so I literally pulled a cape from the dress up box for him to wear.
We also took our kids to a pumpkin patch and they LOVED it. ALL OF IT. Again, no pics. What can I say? I’m LAME.
My friend Tricia came into town from Houston, and we enjoyed a lovely time at her mom’s house in Mapleton. The kids chased the baby Alpacas, gathered eggs, rode on ATV’s, chased her mom’s cat, played in their amazing toy room, jumped on the tramp, and played on the swings.
Clearly, our next house needs to be a fun house like that! The kids refused to leave! Again, no pics. Bleh.
Halloween Party (Four-Year-Old-Style) November 1, 2010
Posted by Emily in : Holidays, Photography, Princess Hannah , 2commentsLast week, I threw a Halloween party for Hannah and a few of her friends. She anxiously waited by the window before her party as her friends trickled in . . .

I dare say the anticipation of “who’s coming next?” was just as exciting the crafts and games I had planned!

She was such an excited little host, she ran out to each friend and ran into the house with them. :)

I cannot take credit for the cute crafts we made. I found these ideas on the blog, One Charming Party. She has so many cute ideas! I incorporated the ideas that looked fairly simple for my sake and the kids! (Thanks Kira for the link!)

At the end of the party, the girls had a little photo shoot with me. By little, I mean it was like five minutes, TOPS. The picture above is really how most photo shoots look before you start shooting.

Then, after you organize a bit, you push the shutter, it looks like this.
I hope you all had a fun Halloween weekend!
