The Adult “Brain Squeezer” January 4, 2010
Posted by Emily in : Beauty, Thoughts , trackbackSomeone, help me understand . . .
Why is every other adult female head in Utah County sporting one of these?

A knit head wrap? WHAT THE?!
So your ears can stay warm all day? Because fancy ear bands (normally worn skiing, not as hair accessories) are so comfortable to wear all day? Because you like your hair to pouf out on the back of your head? Because your forehead gets cold?
Am I the only who thinks this “head wrap thing” is an adult version of the baby brain squeezer?

(I have never been a fan of baby brain squeezers either.)
Your hair accessory should never enter a room before you do, and it should compliment your outfit, not distract from it.

I’m sure many of us wore scrunchies and silk oversized bows in the 1990′s.
How do you feel about them now?
Don’t you wish someone told you to WALK away from the floppy bows and scrunchies?
Aside from my opinion (that head wraps are just not cute), WHY would someone choose a head wrap over a cute hat?

(Like this! THIS is a cute hat!)
Seriously, WHY?
Start out 2010 right, by NOT succumbing to this fashion trend! You’ll thank me in 10 years!

Hahaha! This is so funny! I was at the movies with my friend on Saturday, and some girl was wearing one. My friend asked me where everyone was getting them, and why. I had never seen one! That makes me happy.
THat made me laugh! I have never seen one, I guess they haven’t made their way over to Australia yet. I will keep my eyes out for them…they still sport the scrunchies here though..yikes!!
I heartily agree with you! I know I see them everywhere, and I think that perhaps outside on a cold day? Maybe? But indoors, always, the whole “hair pouf” thing, not my idea of cute!
Have you seen the hairstyle that appears to be a deliberate pouf in the back! That one just makes me shake my head…
Thanks for your opinions – you make me laugh!!!
LOL!!
I love your post although I HAVE ONE! I love it. And ill tell you why. I often wear my hair up in a bun and most beanies or hats look funny with my big knot in the back – either that or I cant wear a hat at all. ( Though I do love the hat on your site…where is that from?!) So this knitted headband is the perfect alternative. Keeps my head and ears warm and I can still wear my hair up! I totally get those other bows, and flowers on kids tho…totally funny-
Okay, I have to admit that I, grown woman though I am, have taken to wearing a few of Rachel’s smaller flowers in my hair. I’ve even got a brain squeezer that fits me and looks quite cute with my short hair, though it’s not particularly comfortable, especially if I accidentally put on Rachel’s instead. Ouch! Anyway, I like the idea of wearing the knit headband if you have short hair, and I never could figure out the poufy hair thing, so I wouldn’t be a good candidate for that. The hat, though, is fantastic! Utah County DOES seem to be a place to start trends. I noticed that when I lived there. Actually, I’d apply that to most of Utah.
Pretty sure these were made so that the “bumppit” could still be worn at the same time.
Funny, funny, funny. You are so right about that hat at the end being cute.
Have you seen this hilarious post on the same subject? I almost died when i saw it!
Oops. It would help if I actually linked to the post…
