The Sacred Grove August 20, 2009
Posted by Emily in : Church, New York , trackbackWe are living in Palmyra. This little village is very special and sacred to the church.

It was here, in this very grove, that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ.

It is such a beautiful place.

So quiet.
So serene.
So sacred.

David and I could have spent hours walking along the trails in this grove.
It’s so neat to be here.
Really.
I wish you all could come.

That is so exciting that you are living in Palmyra. What a wonderful blessing to have that opportunity. Enjoy your journey.
What a beautiful landscape, and the meaning behind that special grove. I wish I could be there, too! It sounds like you’re having a great experience living there in Palmyra! I’m so excited to see more, and more photos! You capture images so beautifully.
I would SOOOO love to visit there.
It is so beautiful there….I am so jealous.
First of all, you are such an incredible photographer. Second of all, you LIVE above the LDS Printshop in Palmyra?!!! I’ve been there! My husband and I were there a few years ago for a week. What a beautiful little town, I’m so excited for you that you get to live there. We ate at Mark’s Pizza while we were in town there and even though there was quite a wait, it was amazing pizza. When did you move there and what brought you to Palmyra? Will you get to stay long? We would absolutely love to live there….except for the bugs. Yikes. There are a lot of bugs.
Hey Jenny,
We moved to Palmyra because my husband is doing an OB/GYN clinical rotation at Rochester General Hospital. Instead of living in Rochester, we decided to live in this quiet little town. He commutes about 45 mins into Rochester and we love living here! We are only here until the end of September. We will move back to our house in Kansas City then.
And yes, we do live in the same building as the print shop! We are on the second floor, two doors down.
We like living in the middle of everything.
We haven’t had Mark’s pizza yet, but we’ll be sure to check it out!
Great pictures of the Sacred Grove. I especially like the photo with the light filtering through the trees.
p.s. you should get a flickr page.
