That world is a completely different world. I remember that when Ryker passed away, 10 days before Christmas, I could not handle the fact that there were Christmas presents for him, wrapped and under the tree. So I my husband that we needed to unwrap them and take them back right away. So we got back in the car, in complete and utter shock and drove the short distance to Target. We walked up to the return counter, and handed them an item. They asked if there was anything wrong with the items. In my head, I was screaming "yes, they were purchased for our precious little baby boy that died a few hours ago" but simply told them no. We walked away, and I said to my husband "I do not think they could even begin to understand how our life has changed today, just look at everyone, acting as if nothing in the world was different." We than purchased the containers to pack Ryker's things away. Until you have been in that world, you do not know. Even now, there are times I forget.
