Should I Be Flattered or Offended? May 1, 2009

Posted by Emily in : Church, My Handsome Husband, Thoughts , trackback

I was supposed to be to the church at 5:30 AM to catch a bus headed for the Saint Louis, Missouri LDS Temple.

My alarm went off, at 4:00.

David hit the seven minute snooze button.

Or so he thought . . .

Seven minutes turned out to be 100 minutes . . .

I lept out of bed at 5:20.

Calculating the time in my head . . .

I had ten minutes to get out of bed, get beautified, and drive to the church, which alone is a 20 minute drive.

With negative 10 minutes to get beautiful, you can just imagine how lovely I looked at 5:40 AM when I stepped out of my car and ran to the bus.

BEAUTIFUL I tell you.  (And by beautiful, I mean I LITERALLY just crawled out of bed.)

Later in the day, a lovely Sister in her 60′s told me she overheard the old man sitting in front of her say this about me when I was running to the bus:

“I wonder if she’s single.  She looks like the kind of girl I’d go for.”

Did you catch the part where the the 60 year old lady called the man in front of her OLD?  I’m guessing he was late 70′s, maybe even in his 80′s.

Is this flattering or disturbing?

Because I’m pretty sure it’s down right disturbing.

Someone, please contact Ten Years Younger for me!

Someone please send me some expensive face cream!  (La Mer will be great!)

David, watch out. . .

I am one hot babe!  Even if only to octogenarians!

ROTFL! You are hilarious, Emily! It may still be a compliment if you look at it the right way. You may just have to look pretty hard, though, to find that right way. :)

I’m impressed you made the bus, though.

You are a better person than I am! I would have rolled over and gone back to sleep, when I realized how late it was.

Definitely flattered. I am glad that you made it to the Temple.

My cute husband has always, always told me that I attract older men… meaning, of course, the 60+ crowd!

I have always opted to take it as a compliment – because the other option is just not as flattering! So, I say, take it as a sign that you are as beautiful as a Hollywood starlet from the Golden Age of Hollywood – and that right out of bed! You are both beautiful and amazing!

Love you tons!
