Checking off My Christmas List January 22, 2009
Posted by Emily in : Little Man Dallin, My Handsome Husband, Princess Hannah , trackbackMy eyes flashed open at 4:45 this morning. It was silent. Too silent. My heart started to race and I jumped up to check on Dallin . . .
I had not seen him or heard a peep from that little guy since 7:30 P.M. last night. Nine hours of silence.
Nine whole hours . . .
My mind immediately jumped to the worst. He must be dead. SIDS. I know it. Why else would he not make any noise?
As I tiptoed into the room and peaked into his crib, all my fears were calmed.
He was sleeping. Soundly. Looking so peaceful and happy.
When did all this happen? What was the magical ingredient? Does this mean all my hard work (and David’s too) has not been in vain? Has sleep training payed off?

David and I are HUGE believers in this sleep book. It worked wonders on Hannah and we have been singing this author praises for over two years now. I LOVE my sleep. I want my children to LOVE their sleep too. This is the beginning of something beautiful.
No more sleep deprivation for me.
No more midnight chit chats with Dallin, more conversations with David.
More personal time in the evening, less mommy duties in the wee hours of unconsciousness.
I love this baby. He is so stinkin’ adorable!
Today I also spent quality time with my sister, Allison. We went shopping. No kids. Completely unfettered. It was fun, and very successful.
Tonight, we told Hannah her binkie was lost. She looked all over the house for it. When she came to the conclusion, that yes, it was indeed lost somewhere in this house, she just went to bed. WITHOUT IT. No fuss. No meltdown. No issues. I love reasoning with a two year old.

This is the beginning of a great night.
Both kids are asleep. And Hannah kicked her night time binkie habit.
You may have read this Christmas list I posted last month. I’m checking it off a little at a time. One item down . . . several more to go . . .

That is wonderful! It is always nice when you can get your baby sleeping through the night. We are huge fans of the book Baby Wise. Kind of the same concept. I love my sleep too!
